Boil Order Issued After Potosi Water Main Break

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - A voluntary boil order is in effect for parts of Potosi until late Saturday night after a water main break Thursday.

City officials say water service was restored by Thursday evening, but residents in the affected area are urged to take precautions. The boil order covers Nicholson Drive from Richeson Road to Louise Street, along with Teasdale Street. Residents should bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing food. Officials also advise using bottled water for infants and anyone with weakened immune systems.

The city will notify residents once the advisory is lifted.
