Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The Bonne Terre Downtown District Property Owners Association will celebrate a major downtown improvement later this month with a special soirée and lamppost lighting ceremony.
The celebration will mark the completion of new sidewalk lighting in the Bonne Terre Downtown District, a project aimed at enhancing safety, visibility, and the overall atmosphere of the historic downtown area.
Bonne Terre City Administrator Shawn Kay says the lighting project has been a significant undertaking for the downtown area and represents an important investment in the community’s future.
The event is scheduled for Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at La Petite Salle Event Space, located at 19 West School Street in Bonne Terre. Apéritifs and hors d'oeuvres will be served as part of the evening’s festivities.
The official lamppost lighting ceremony will take place at dusk. Community members are invited to attend the event and help welcome the new lighting as the downtown district continues its efforts toward revitalization and growth.
