Bonne Terre Warrant Arrest Leads to Fentanyl Seizure

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - A High Ridge man is in custody after Bonne Terre Police attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant Thursday at the Motel 6 on Route K.

Officers say Christopher Whitt was wanted on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. When officers arrived, Whitt reportedly hid under a bed inside the motel room and refused to follow commands. The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department arrived to assist, deploying K-9 Onyx. Police say once the dog entered the room, Whitt surrendered without further incident. A search of the motel room uncovered a large amount of fentanyl.

Whitt was taken to the Jefferson County Jail on the active warrant. Bonne Terre Police say they will forward their report to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office seeking additional charges.
