Brush Fire Contained on Jayhawk Road in Irondale

Irondale, Mo. (KFMO) - Firefighters with the Irondale Fire Protection District responded Thursday evening to a reported brush fire in a backyard along Jayhawk Road.

Crews arrived to find an active ground fire covering roughly half the size of a football field, spreading through leaves and wooded terrain, with a residence located about 100 feet away. Ariving units quickly worked to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures and surrounding woods. No injuries were reported.

Officials remind residents that dry conditions continue across the area and urge caution with outdoor burning, encouraging anyone who spots a fire to report it immediately.
