City of Ironton Earns Missouri Blue Shield Designation for 2026

Ironton, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Ironton has once again been recognized for its commitment to public safety, earning the Missouri Blue Shield designation for 2026.

The announcement came from the Missouri Department of Public Safety, marking the second consecutive year Ironton has received the honor, following its 2025 designation. The Missouri Blue Shield Program was launched in January 2025 by Governor Mike Kehoe to recognize communities that prioritize crime reduction, invest in law enforcement, and build strong partnerships between police and residents.

Communities that earned the designation in 2025 were required to reapply this year to maintain their status.
