Closure of Route 47 Bridge Near Cadet Postponed to Sept. 16

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The closure of the Missouri Route 47 bridge over Mill Creek in Washington County has been delayed by one day.

UDT, LLC, working with MoDOT, now plans to close the bridge northeast of Potosi near Cadet on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025. The closure is part of a rehabilitation project expected to last through mid-November. While the bridge’s support structures remain sound, the 60-year-old deck is in poor condition and will be replaced with a wider deck.

Updated rails and new guardrails will also be installed. Route 47 will be closed during construction, with a signed detour directing drivers to Routes 67, 8, and 21.
