Congressman Jason Smith Visits Brockmiller Construction in St. Francois County

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Congressman Jason Smith visited Brockmiller Construction Inc. in Farmington on Wednesday, meeting with company leaders to discuss policy priorities and challenges facing the construction industry.

During the visit, Brockmiller Construction President Collin Rogers provided an update on the company’s operations and broader issues impacting the sector. Smith praised the company’s long-standing role in the community, noting Brockmiller has been a part of Farmington and St. Francois County for more than a century. He also highlighted the company’s employee-owned structure, operating under an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, which Smith has supported through legislation aimed at strengthening ESOPs nationwide.

As part of the visit, Smith toured the 8,400-square-foot Farmington Public Works building currently under construction by Brockmiller. The company employs approximately 80 workers, with an estimated 75 to 80 percent of its work contracted by Farmington Public Works, while also partnering with nine counties across the region. Rogers was joined by Farmington Mayor Chris Morrison and City Administrator Gregg Beavers for discussions with Smith about ongoing challenges, including federal regulations related to reverse mortgages and federally backed properties.

Smith said he appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from local leaders and business owners and emphasized his continued focus on reducing bureaucratic red tape, supporting employee-owned businesses, and promoting economic growth within the construction industry.
