Crews Battle Large Brush Fire Near Arcadia Sunday Evening

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Emergency crews from Iron County and neighboring departments spent several hours Sunday evening battling a large brush fire in Arcadia.

The fire was reported on the south end of town on the mountain near Dogwood Lane and Miller Drive. Firefighters worked into the evening to try to contain the flames as the fire threatened multiple homes and other structures in the area.

At this time, officials have not released confirmed information on the full extent of the damage. Several homes and buildings were reported to be in the path of the fire, but it remains unclear whether any structures were destroyed or significantly damaged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet said what may have sparked the blaze.
