Crews Knock Down Structure Fire Along Highway OO

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a residential structure fire along Highway OO on Saturday.

Crews arriving on scene reported smoke and flames visible from two sides of the home. Crews advanced two 1¾-inch hand lines into the structure to begin fire attack. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions inside the dwelling, but were able to quickly knock down the flames. An initial search of the structure was conducted during the attack.

A complete search confirmed the residence was not occupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
