Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A De Soto man was killed early Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Missouri 141 in Jefferson County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after midnight at 12:25 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Missouri 141, just south of Fiedler Lane. Investigators say the pedestrian, a 50-year-old man from De Soto, was walking in the middle of the second southbound lane when he was struck by a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep, driven by a 29-year-old man from Hillsboro, was traveling southbound when the collision occurred. Authorities report the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene.
