Deputy Honored by MADD for DUI Enforcement Efforts

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Deputy Justin Barton with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department has received special recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving during the organization’s annual 2026 Heroes for Heroes Law Enforcement Recognition Event in St. Louis.

The event was held Tuesday, May 7, 2026, and honored law enforcement officers for their efforts in combating impaired driving and promoting roadway safety.

Sheriff Jeff Crites says the recognition highlights the ongoing work by local law enforcement officers to reduce impaired driving incidents and improve public safety across St. Francois County.

Deputy Barton has the distinction of becoming the first St. Francois County deputy ever recognized by MADD. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Barton was honored for his continued dedication to keeping local roadways safe and for his outstanding efforts in removing impaired drivers from the community.
