Desloge Home Destroyed in Wednesday Afternoon Fire

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - A home in the 200 block of Allison Lane in Desloge was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.

According to Desloge Deputy Fire Chief Rick Whaley, firefighters were dispatched at around 2:40 p.m. to a second-alarm structure fire that was heavily involved when crews arrived on scene.

Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties. Authorities say the home is considered a total loss.

KFMO News has learned that the dog was able to make it out of the house alive and is currently seeking medical attention at a local vet.

​No injuries to residents or emergency personnel were reported.

The Desloge Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Big River, Bismarck, De Soto Rural, Farmington, Leadington, Leadwood, Park Hills and Wolf Creek fire departments.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office.
