Election Day in St. Francois County

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - St. Francois County residents are taking part in the April 7, 2026 General Municipal Election, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. across voting centers in the county. Registered voters are choosing candidates for a multitude of local positions and weighing in on several important ballot measures.

The ballot includes multiple school board elections in districts such as Bismarck R-V, West St. Francois R-IV, North St. Francois R-I, Central R-III, Farmington R-VII and Sunrise R-IX, with seats open for terms ranging from three years to filling vacancies.

A key issue on the ballot is a bond proposition for the Central R-III School District, which asks voters to approve $13.5 million in bonds for facilities improvements, playground upgrades, security enhancements and other capital projects.

Other measures include a sales tax growth proposition for the St. Francois County Ambulance District to fund ongoing operations.

City voters are also deciding a variety of local leadership and tax questions. Races include council seats in and consideration of a five percent lodging tax for tourism promotion, and Desloge voters are considering a local use tax.

Election officials remind residents that to have their votes counted, they must be in line by 7 p.m. tonight.
