FAA Completes Runway Light Testing at Washington County Airport

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Washington County residents may have noticed a large jet circling the area Thursday evening.

According to airport officials, the aircraft was part of an FAA flight inspection team evaluating the airport’s newly installed runway lighting system. The FAA crew conducted multiple passes over the airport, communicating directly with the contractor on the ground to ensure the lights were properly aligned and functioning as required. After a few minor adjustments, the system was approved.

Airport officials say the new runway lights are now fully commissioned and ready for daily use, marking another improvement in safety and reliability at the Washington County Airport.
