Farmington. Mo. (KFMO) - A rural Farmington man has been charged with multiple felony sex offenses involving a juvenile following an investigation by the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department.
According to authorities, a deputy responded on March 10, 2026 to a residence in St. Francois County after a report of sexual abuse. The reporting party told law enforcement her juvenile daughter had disclosed being sexually abused by a family friend.
The sheriff’s department says an initial report was taken at the scene and then forwarded to the Detective Division for follow-up investigation.
As part of that investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant on March 18 for the residence of David W. Rhodes in rural Farmington. Rhodes was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the St. Francois County Adult Detention Center pending formal charges.
Court records show Rhodes was formally charged March 19 with two counts of first-degree statutory rape involving a person less than 14 years old and four counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy.
Authorities say bond was set at no bond.
