Farmington Man Found Guilty on Multiple Counts in St. Francois County Child Sex Abuse Trial

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A St. Francois County jury has reached a mixed verdict in the case of a Farmington man accused of multiple felony sex offenses spanning several years, according to court documents.

Jackie Patterson was found guilty on ten counts, including two counts of statutory rape in the first degree and eight counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree. Jurors also found him not guilty on several additional counts presented during the trial.

The case stemmed from allegations outlined in court filings that described incidents occurring in St. Francois County between the mid-1990s and early 2000s. A substitute information filed ahead of trial detailed multiple felony charges, including statutory rape, statutory sodomy, and child molestation.

During the trial, the State presented evidence over several days beginning June 15, 2026. The defense made multiple motions for acquittal during the proceedings, all of which were denied by the court.

On June 23, jurors began deliberations in the afternoon and returned their verdict later that evening. Following the decision, Patterson’s bond was revoked and he was taken into custody.

Court records indicate Patterson is scheduled for a bond review hearing on July 6, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Formal sentencing has been set for August 31, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in St. Francois County Circuit Court.
