Farmington Man Held on $250,000 Bond Following Knife Assault

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A 63-year-old Farmington man is facing felony charges after police say a 37-year-old man was injured with a knife during a disturbance Thursday afternoon at the Farm Villa Apartments.

Farmington Police officers responded to the apartments at 739 Hillsboro Road, within the Farmington city limits, at approximately 3:32 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, following a report of a disturbance involving a knife.

When officers arrived, they located a 37-year-old male who had been injured with a knife. The Farmington Fire Department and St. Francois County Ambulance were called to the scene, and the injured man was transported for medical treatment.

During the subsequent investigation, officers took Kevin Schober into custody. Schober was transported to the Farmington Police Department for questioning before being taken to the St. Francois County Jail.

Schober is currently being held on a $250,000 bond. He faces charges of second-degree assault and armed criminal action.

The incident remains under investigation.
