Farmington Man Indicted on First-Degree Murder Charge in Fatal Shooting of Dreven Rawson

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A Farmington man is now facing an upgraded charge of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Dreven “Dre” Rawson.

A grand jury indicted 27-year-old Nathan S. Larson last week on charges of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to Farmington Police, the shooting happened the morning of July 6 in the breezeway of an apartment complex on Hill Top Place Drive. Investigators say Rawson had been dropped off to visit a friend but mistakenly knocked on the wrong door. Police report that Larson, who lived in the apartment Rawson approached, saw him at the door and fired multiple shots from the parking lot. An autopsy showed Rawson was struck at least five times.

Police Chief Chris Bullock said Larson claimed Rawson had been banging and kicking on the door where his wife and child were inside, but investigators noted evidence indicated Rawson was attempting to get away when he was shot. Larson was originally charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

The upgraded indictment raises the case to first-degree murder, a charge that carries the possibility of life in prison without parole.
