St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Farmington man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle utility terrain vehicle crash early Thursday morning in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:12 a.m. on May 21 along Missouri Route 47 near House Road.
Troopers reported that a 35-year-old man from Farmington was driving a 2024 Polaris RZR northbound when he failed to maintain the vehicle within the roadway lane. The vehicle traveled off the north side of the highway before the driver overcorrected by steering left.
Investigators say the Polaris returned to the roadway, overturned onto its left side, and skidded to a stop while blocking the northbound lane of Missouri 47. The vehicle came to rest facing south.
The driver suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported by ARCH 10 Air Evac to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the driver was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The Polaris RZR sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene.
