Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Farmington residents will have a chance to clear out unwanted items next week as the City of Farmington prepares for its annual Spring Cleanup.
Cleanup will take place April 6-10, 2026, with collection scheduled by ward. Ward 1 residents should place eligible items out for pickup by Monday, April 6. Ward 2 pickup will be Tuesday, April 7. Ward 3 will be Wednesday, April 8, and Ward 4 cleanup will be Thursday, April 9.
Public Works Director Larry Lacy says residents can place certain large items out for collection during the cleanup event, but the city is reminding people that regular household trash will not be accepted.
That means residents should not place out trash bags, cardboard, or items already handled through their normal garbage service.
The city is also making it clear that yard waste will not be collected during Spring Cleanup. Leaves, limbs, and brush should instead be taken to the Farmington Yard Waste Site, located at 3875 Pimville Road. The site is open daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
There are also several other restrictions in place for cleanup week. Construction debris such as lumber, shingles, and siding will not be accepted. Liquids and hazardous materials are also prohibited. In addition, residents are asked not to place any item out that is larger than two people can safely handle.
Appliances can be included, but only if the compressor has been removed beforehand.
City officials are encouraging residents to follow the guidelines to help keep the cleanup running smoothly and safely.
