Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Several Farmington City Light & Water customers were without electricity for a short time Monday morning after storm damage caused problems in two areas of the city.
The outages occurred around 7:40 a.m. Monday. According to city officials, the largest outage happened in the North Street area, where storm damage affected the electrical system, causing the outage along Karsch Blvd. from Potosi Street to Washington Street.
A second, smaller outage was reported on the south side of Farmington near the intersection of Franklin and Fourth Streets. That outage was caused by tree limbs that came into contact with power lines following the storms.
The Farmington Electric Department responded to both locations and was able to make the necessary repairs. Power was restored quickly to all affected customers.
Officials continue to remind residents to use caution around downed power lines and to report any storm-related utility issues to the appropriate authorities.
