Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington Street Department will begin its annual street milling and paving project in late May, with crews working on a number of streets in both residential neighborhoods and commercial corridors across Farmington.
According to Public Works Director Larry Lacy, the project will be completed in two stages. The first phase involves milling, where the top layer of the roadway is removed. Once that process is finished, crews will return to apply a fresh layer of asphalt paving.
Scheduled work areas include Columbia Street, Ste. Genevieve Avenue, and Maple Street near Walton Drive, along with additional streets throughout the city.
City officials say the project will impact traffic in some locations and are asking motorists to slow down, use caution in construction zones, and be patient while crews complete the improvements. The annual maintenance project is expected to continue for several weeks.
