St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - One person is dead and another seriously injured following a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 12:10 p.m. on March 3, 2026 on Flat River Road near Fairgrounds Drive.
Troopers report a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line and struck the front of an eastbound 2018 Dodge Journey. After the impact, the Dodge Journey traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Cruze from Farmington was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The report indicates he was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge Journey, an 18-year-old woman from Bonne Terre, sustained serious injuries. She was wearing a safety device and was transported by the ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and were towed from the scene.
