Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - According to the Ste. Genevieve County Fire Protection District, just before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, fire crews from Stations 5, 2, and 7 were dispatched to the 6100 block of Charter Church Road for a reported residential fire. Automatic aid was also requested from the Jefferson R-7 Fire Protection District, Goose Creek Lake Fire Department, and the Ste. Genevieve Fire District.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a working structure fire, along with a brush fire that was threatening a second structure on the property. Crews immediately deployed two handlines and began an aggressive fire attack, successfully bringing both the structure and brush fires under control.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. One dog was safely rescued from the residence during firefighting operations.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.
