Fire Destroys Home in St. Mary’s Tuesday Morning

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a residential structure fire early Tuesday morning in St. Mary’s that left a home heavily damaged.

Crews from the Ste. Genevieve Fire Protection District Stations in St. Mary's and Ozora were dispatched just after 7 a.m. by St. Francois County 911 to the 24000 block of Highway 61. While firefighters were en route, dispatchers advised that the structure was reported to be fully involved in flames.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the residence heavily engulfed in fire. Firefighters immediately deployed attack lines and began suppression efforts to bring the blaze under control.

Additional assistance was requested from other Ste. Genevieve County Fire Protection District Stations.

Authorities report no injuries in the fire. However, the residence sustained extensive damage. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
