Fire Under Investigation at Twins BBQ in Bonne Terre

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - An investigation is underway following a fire at Twins BBQ in Bonne Terre early Saturday morning.

According to Big River Fire Protection District Chief David Pratte, fire crews were called to the restaurant at 3:04 a.m. to reports of a commercial structure fire.

Chief Pratte says the fire caused extensive damage to an addition on the back of the building, with heat and smoke damage reported throughout the remainder of the structure. No injuries were reported, and no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.

This marks the second fire at the building in recent years. The previous fire occurred in October of 2023, when the location was home to the Homestead Restaurant. Chief Pratte says that fire was determined to be electrical in nature. He adds that while the cause of Saturday’s fire has not yet been determined, he does not believe it was electrical.

The fire marshal has been called in and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Multiple departments assisted at the scene, including DeSoto Rural, Jefferson R-7, Festus, Hillsboro, Farmington, and Desloge fire departments.
