Four Injured in Chain-Reaction Crash on Highway 8 in Washington County

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Four people were injured Thursday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 8 at Auburn Lane in Washington County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. when a 20-year-old man from Cadet, driving a Ford F-250, failed to notice stopped traffic and struck the rear of a Jeep Patriot.

The collision triggered a chain reaction involving a GMC Canyon and a Ford F-150. A 33-year-old woman from French Village driving the Jeep, along with her 15-year-old passenger, were seriously hurt. The juvenile was flown by Arch Air Medical to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The driver was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. A 41-year-old man from Mineral Point, driving the GMC, also suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy South. A 53-year-old passenger in the Jeep received minor injuries and was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital.

The crash left three vehicles totaled and towed from the scene.
