Fredericktown, Mo. (KFMO) - A residential fire in Fredericktown Wednesday afternoon caused significant damage to a home but resulted in no injuries thanks to a quick response from local emergency crews.
The Fredericktown Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 4 p.m. to the 500 block of High Street for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire conditions in a bedroom of the residence.
According to the fire department, all occupants had safely evacuated the home before crews arrived on scene.
Firefighters from the Fredericktown Fire Department, assisted by the Cherokee Pass Fire Protection District, worked quickly to bring the fire under control. Although the flames were contained, the residence suffered extensive smoke and water damage.
Despite dealing with high temperatures and challenging conditions, firefighters completed the operation without any injuries to emergency personnel or residents.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
