Viburnum, Mo. (KFMO) - A free monthly food distribution program is helping residents in Viburnum access essential groceries and resources.
Residents in Viburnum have access to free food through the Food Access Resource Markets (FARMs) program, organized by the St. Louis Area Foodbank, a member of Feeding America.
The distribution takes place at 29 Vine Street in Viburnum, Missouri, on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 10 a.m.
FARMs events are designed to provide reliable food access in communities that may lack traditional pantry locations. The program connects residents not only with groceries but also with additional resources aimed at improving food security and reducing financial strain.
Organizers say the distributions are set up as drive-thru events, allowing participants to remain in their vehicles while volunteers load food directly into them. This setup helps streamline the process and ensures accessibility for a wide range of residents.
The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to combat hunger across the region by bringing food directly to underserved areas.
