Highway 8 Roundabout in Desloge Nears Completion with Partial Opening Set for Friday

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - The Highway 8 roundabout project is moving into its final phase as the Missouri Department of Transportation prepares to open the outer portion of the new traffic circle this Friday evening.

MoDOT Engineer Corbin Carlton says the partial opening will allow drivers to begin using the roundabout while crews continue working on its center section.

Carlton notes the roundabout will be fully functional, but additional construction is still needed to complete the interior features. The project was originally slated for completion on December 15, but unexpected issues surfaced during the process, causing delays.

He adds that winter weather could push the timeline back even further, potentially into the new year if conditions hamper progress.

Despite the delays, Carlton says the roundabout is expected to significantly improve safety and traffic flow once finished, providing faster and more efficient travel for motorists in the Desloge area.
