Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Authorities in Farmington are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Sunday morning in the 600 block of Hill Top Place Drive.
According to police, officers were dispatched to 612 Hill Top Place Drive around 11:33 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Drevon M. Rawson of Springfield, Mo., lying on the floor of a breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but Rawson was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 27-year-old white male suspect from Farmington was taken into custody without incident at the location. Investigators say a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. He is currently being held in the St. Francois County Jail pending formal charges related to the shooting.
At this time, investigators believe there was no prior connection between the victim and the suspect. Police say they have recovered video, audio, and physical evidence from the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the suspect's name or details about a possible motive.
