House Springs Man Arrested After Alleged Shooting Leads to Hours-Long Standoff

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A House Springs man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he shot a woman and later barricaded himself inside a home, leading to an hours-long standoff with law enforcement.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, 44-year-old Ronald L. Lalk of House Springs has been charged with First-Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Second-Degree Kidnapping, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Investigators believe Lalk shot a woman during the early morning hours of March 12, 2026 at a residence in the 4000 block of Crest Drive in House Springs. The victim was transported to a hospital where she was treated for injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

Following the incident, investigators obtained a search warrant for the home. When deputies attempted to serve the warrant, authorities say Lalk barricaded himself inside the residence.

Because investigators believed Lalk was still armed, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office activated its SWAT team and Crisis Negotiators in an effort to safely resolve the situation.

Deputies spent several hours negotiating with Lalk before ultimately convincing him to exit the home peacefully. He was taken into custody without injury to himself or anyone else.

Lalk is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
