Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - An inmate at the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre has died.
Officials with the Missouri Department of Corrections say 68-year-old Jeffrey Ahrens was pronounced dead at 7:29 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the facility.
Ahrens had been serving a 15-year sentence for two counts of first-degree robbery out of St. Louis City. He was received into the custody of the Department of Corrections on April 30, 2018.
Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
No additional information has been released at this time.
