St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Authorities are investigating an intentional shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in the Walnut Grove Trailer Park in St. Francois County.
According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the 3000 block of Miranda Drive for what was initially reported as an accidental shooting. After deputies arrived and began their investigation, the case was upgraded to an intentional shooting.
Emergency crews from Wolf Creek Fire, the St. Francois County Ambulance District, and the Farmington Police Department assisted at the scene.
Officials say the victim was taken from the scene in critical condition. The suspect has been taken into custody.
Investigators also recovered a firearm at the location. Detectives with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department remain on scene processing evidence and conducting interviews.
The investigation remains active, and authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
