Iron County Tax Talk Set for March 5 at Ironton Library

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Residents of Iron County are invited to attend a public discussion on local taxes Tuesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. at the Ironton Library.

Presiding Commissioner Jim Scaggs will lead the free event, offering an overview of how taxes are structured in Iron County and how they fund essential services. The discussion will include the history of county taxes and how they generate revenue, as well as a review of measures that appeared on last year’s ballot and their continued impact.

Commissioner Scaggs will also take an in-depth look at upcoming tax issues on the April ballot to help residents better understand what will be decided at the polls. The event is open to the public, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak directly with Commissioner Scaggs.
