Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has announced charges against an Irondale man following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse involving juvenile victims.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a report was received in November 2025 alleging that an uncle had engaged in sexual acts against his juvenile nephew and nieces. Detectives immediately began an investigation and spent the following month gathering evidence and working to establish probable cause. Investigators say that after several hours of interviews and interrogation, the suspect provided an admission and a written letter of apology.
As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Devon Whaley of Irondale was taken into custody on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Whaley has been formally charged with three counts of Sodomy in the First Degree, three counts of Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree, and one count of Enticement of a Child.
Whaley is currently being held without bond. The investigation remains ongoing.
