Jefferson County 911 Dispatch Launches New Citizen Feedback Program

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Jefferson County 911 Dispatch has launched a new citizen engagement and feedback program designed to strengthen communication, transparency, and service to the community.

The new system, called PowerEngage, uses text messaging to allow residents to share feedback after both emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The program officially launched January 1, 2026. The feedback system sends text messages approximately four hours after an incident, inviting citizens to complete a short survey about their experience. To avoid disruptions during late evening and overnight hours, surveys are not sent between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Calls handled during those hours will receive a survey the following day. Residents can use the survey to provide comments, share feedback, or recognize dispatchers and responders for their service. Participation in PowerEngage is completely voluntary.

Citizens who do not wish to receive surveys may simply not respond or may opt out at any time by replying “STOP.” Officials emphasize the survey system is not intended for reporting emergencies or criminal activity.

For emergencies, residents should always call 911. Non-emergency calls should be directed to the Jefferson County 911 Dispatch non-emergency line at 636-797-9999.

Jefferson County 911 Dispatch says citizen feedback is viewed as an important tool in maintaining accountability and supporting continuous improvement while providing professional, compassionate, and reliable service to the community.
