Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Deaths of Husband and Wife

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into two recent deaths, the murder of Robert Malcom in late August and the death of his wife, Stacy Jay-Malcom, earlier this month.

Grant Bissell, Public Safety Information Coordinator with the sheriff’s office, says detectives are still working to piece together the details of the case.

Bissell adds that investigators believe Jay-Malcom most likely died from a drug overdose.

Authorities report Jay-Malcom was found in a wooded area about three-quarters of a mile from the family’s home on September 7, 2025. Just over a week earlier, on August 30, Malcom’s body was discovered inside the residence.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation remains active.
