Large Hail Pounds Parkland Communities Overnight

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A strong storm system moved across St. Francois County around 3:30 a.m., bringing intense hail to several communities. In Farmington, hailstones larger than golf balls were reported, causing significant damage to vehicles. Many residents and overnight workers say windshields were shattered as the storm moved through.

Additional reports from Caledonia indicate hail reaching up to golf ball size in that area as well.

No injuries have been reported at this time, but residents are continuing to assess the extent of the damage. Authorities remind the public to document any damage for insurance purposes and to report significant impacts to local emergency management agencies.
