Leadington, Mo. (KFMO) - A Leadington man is in custody following an investigation into a reported stolen vehicle.
According to the Leadington Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in Leadington on January 9, 2026, in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a confidential victim who reported her ex-boyfriend, identified as Garrett Arnold, had taken her vehicle without permission.
Police say Arnold allegedly removed the keys from the victim’s purse without her consent and left the residence in the vehicle. Later that evening, Leadington police officers located and arrested Arnold.
He was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and is currently being held at the St. Francois County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
