Leadwood Man Seriously Injured in Franklin County Crash

Franklin Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 28-year-old man from Leadwood was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Franklin County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on southbound Route N, north of Oak Grove Church Road. Troopers say the driver of a 2010 Chrysler Sebring swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle that began to enter the highway in his path. The driver steered left, crossed the centerline, then overcorrected to the right.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox, continued sliding, and then hit a tree. The car sustained total damage and was towed from the scene. The driver, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash, suffered serious injuries.

He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
