Light of Hope Luncheon Highlights Foster Care Awareness in the Parkland

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The CASA of the Parkland Light of Hope Luncheon was held this week, drawing community members together to highlight the importance of foster care advocacy and support services in the region.

This annual event is designed to raise awareness about CASA’s mission while also educating attendees on the challenges faced by children in the foster care system.

This year’s featured speaker was Theresa Collins, founder and Principal Strategist of Beacon Organizational Consulting. Collins shared her personal story with those in attendance.

Her message focused on resilience, advocacy, and the importance of community involvement in supporting vulnerable children.

Collins also issued a challenge to attendees, encouraging them to take meaningful steps in their communities to support foster youth and the organizations that serve them.

Organizers say the Light of Hope Luncheon continues to serve as an important platform for education, awareness, and community engagement surrounding foster care issues in the Parkland.

The City of Farmington received recognition for their support for CASA of the Parkland.
