Light Snow Possible Friday Evening; Cold Weekend Ahead for the Parkland

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Residents across the Parkland could see a round of light snow Friday evening, followed by much colder temperatures through the weekend and into early next week.

Forecasts call for light snow to develop Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with up to a half inch of accumulation possible across the area. While amounts are expected to remain light, slick spots could develop on roadways during the evening hours.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Dallas Thompson says it is always important for drivers and families to be prepared when winter weather moves into the region.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain cold through the weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday are expected to range from 30 to 32 degrees. Overnight lows will dip into the upper single digits Saturday night and the mid-teens Sunday night. Colder air is expected to settle into the region early next week, with daytime highs only reaching the upper 20s.

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time, watch for changing road conditions, and ensure vehicles are winter-ready as colder weather continues across the Parkland.
