Local Nurse Practitioner Urges Importance of Annual Wellness Visits at Desloge Chamber Luncheon

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - During Tuesday’s Desloge Chamber of Commerce luncheon, health professionals highlighted the importance of preventive care and community growth in Desloge.

At the event, Lacey Sullivan, a nurse practitioner with BJC Parkland Health Center, addressed chamber members on the value of scheduling annual wellness visits. Sullivan stressed that most insurance plans cover these yearly exams at no cost to patients, making them a key tool in maintaining long-term health and catching potential medical concerns early.

She encouraged community members and local business leaders to prioritize preventive care, noting that regular checkups can help identify issues before they become more serious and costly to treat.

Following the health presentation, attendees shifted focus to local economic development as chamber members gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Makers Exchange. The event celebrated the business’s role in supporting local entrepreneurship and creativity within the Desloge area.
