Mandatory 48-Hour Water Boil Order Issued for Part of High Street in Potosi

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Potosi has issued a mandatory 48-hour water boil order following a water main break.

The boil order went into effect Friday morning for residents and businesses located on High Street from North Missouri Street to Water Street.

City officials are advising customers in the affected area to boil all water intended for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, or preparing food. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.

The precautionary boil order will remain in effect for 48 hours while crews complete repairs and water quality testing. Officials will notify the public when testing confirms the water is safe and the order has been lifted.

Residents with questions are encouraged to contact the City of Potosi.
