Herculaneum, Mo. (KFMO) - Crews will close McNutt Street under I-55 from 9 p.m. Friday, November 21, through 5 a.m. Monday, November 24, as demolition begins on the old northbound bridge.
Traffic on I-55 has already been shifted onto a newly constructed bridge, allowing demolition to move forward while keeping interstate traffic flowing. All lanes of I-55 will remain open throughout the work. Drivers should plan for detours during the closure.
Motorists west of I-55 on McNutt Street can reach northbound I-55 by taking southbound I-55 to the Veterans Boulevard exit, then traveling north on U.S. 61/67 before returning west on McNutt Street to the northbound entrance ramp.
Those east of I-55 can access southbound I-55 by taking the interstate north to the Route Z exit, then using the southbound entrance ramp. Travelers in the Herculaneum area are encouraged to use alternate routes during the weekend work.
All construction is weather permitting.
