MDC Seeks Public Input on Possible Change to Nonresident Turkey Hunting Limits

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Department of Conservation is asking turkey hunters to weigh in on a proposed change that would reduce the nonresident spring turkey hunting bag limit from two bearded birds to one. Nonresident landowners would still be allowed to harvest two birds, but only one during the first week of the season.

Officials say the change aims to address concerns from Missouri hunters about increased crowding in the woods as nonresident participation rises. The department believes the reduction could help ease hunting pressure and improve the experience for residents.

Public comments on the proposal are being accepted through November 7.
