Mineral Area College Concurrent Enrollment Program Earns National Reaccreditation

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Mineral Area College’s concurrent enrollment program has earned reaccreditation from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships, reinforcing the college’s commitment to providing high-quality college credit opportunities for high school students across the region.

Mineral Area College announced the recognition this week, noting that it places the program among a select group nationwide. During the 2025–2026 accreditation cycle, the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships accredited just 22 programs, bringing the national total to 136 programs across 132 institutions in 27 states.

NACEP is the only national accrediting body for concurrent enrollment partnerships. It ensures that college-level courses taught in high school settings meet the same academic standards as courses taught on college campuses. To earn reaccreditation, MAC underwent a detailed peer-review process covering curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, assessment practices, and overall program effectiveness.

MAC Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Keith Zoromski said the recognition reflects the dedication of faculty, staff, and partner schools across the region.

“This reaffirmation reflects the commitment of Mineral Area College to ensuring that students in the communities we serve have access to excellent, affordable opportunities for learning, personal growth, and career development right in their high school setting,” Zoromski said. “It is important to note that this would not have been possible without our dedicated team and everyone who contributed in support.”

The concurrent enrollment program allows qualified high school students to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously through approved instructors or college faculty. Officials say the program helps reduce college costs, accelerates degree completion, and provides students with a smoother transition to higher education.

Program Coordinator Allie Wisker-Brooks praised the partnership between MAC and area schools.

“This is a great achievement for Mineral Area College and the high schools that we partner with,” Wisker-Brooks said. “It truly highlights the quality of instruction and the support that our local students have on the paths to achieving their goals.”
