Missouri Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Levels in Nearly Four Years

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri drivers are getting a break at the pump as holiday travel ramps up across the state.

Gas prices in Missouri have fallen to their lowest level since March 2021, offering relief for millions of motorists hitting the road this season. The statewide average price for a gallon of gas is $2.54, which is five cents cheaper than a week ago and 18 cents lower than this time last year. Stable crude oil prices and strong fuel supply have helped keep gas prices steady throughout 2025. The lower prices are expected to benefit an estimated 2.1 million Missouri residents who plan to drive to their holiday destinations.

Drivers are encouraged to prepare their vehicles for road trips by checking battery health, tire pressure and tread, and fluid levels to help prevent breakdowns during peak travel days. Fuel prices do vary across the state.

Drivers in the St. Louis area are paying higher prices on average compared to motorists in the Kansas City region, reflecting regional differences in fuel distribution and demand.
