Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missourians will likely see higher health insurance premiums next year.
According to final rate filings released by the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance, premiums for 2026 are expected to increase across most plans offered in the state. Despite the rate hikes, officials emphasize that coverage options remain strong. Every county in Missouri will continue to have at least two insurance carriers, and most will have four or more, ensuring residents maintain access to a range of choices when selecting a plan.
The open enrollment period for 2026 coverage began November 1, with a December 15 deadline for coverage starting January 1. State officials are encouraging residents to review their plan options carefully this year, as some federal subsidies may expire and plan networks could change, potentially affecting which doctors and hospitals are covered.
More information on available plans and assistance can be found through the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance or Healthcare.gov.
